There is no doubt we in the North-West live in a fantastic place with a lifestyle that's the envy of people around the world.

I believe if we’re positive about our State and particularly our region we can look with real optimism to the future.

The Tasmanian Government under the leadership of Premier David Bartlett is approaching the challenges and opportunities ahead with renewed energy and enthusiasm and I look forward to playing a constructive role.

I have a very clear view of the future and am determined not to be bogged down or distracted by the rough and tumble of day-to-day politics.

I just think there is so much to be positive about our region and around Tasmania generally.

I believe Tasmania has never been in better shape despite what the naysayers and the knockers who are always talking Tasmania down might come up with next.

I challenge them to think and act more positively.

We have record jobs growth, record population, increasing tourist numbers and continuing business investment.
